tooo muchhhh

Hellooooo
Okay I have way too much to tell you and very little time. I had a great trip- pictures to follow. I got some goodies while shopping in the states. I ate some good food. Laughed at some americans (sorry Diaz). And then came home to 153 blogs to read. i have only got through a portion- but I found this great little diy that I NEED to recreate when I get back to lesta. I also finished hunger games. so fricken good. I'm starting the second one today. But the boat and the sunshine are calling. But now that I'm home, I vow to write a few fab blogs to tell you of my adventures!

i heart...

Can we talk about my adoration for two babes: Emma Stone and Mila Kunis. Both have been in my movie favs this summer (Crazy Stupid Love, Friends with Benefits) and I'm looking forward to the movie for 'The Help' that I read in Spain- that E Stone is going to be in. I think I like them because they are so funny and effortless- two qualities I don't pretend I have. But beyond that- like I said before, they are babes. Plus they both managed to be with two of my biggest hollywood crushes in their movies- JT and Ryan Gosling. Let's take a look...

OH and as a side note: Last summer (I think?) I read such a fantastic book that I was actually upset when it ended- One Day. Then I was watching tv the other day, barely paying attention... and then I saw a movie trailer- for ONE DAY. And I got really excited. Anne Hathaway is the main girl (perfect) and the adorable Jim Sturgess from Across the Universe is the guy (even more perfect). Yu need to read the book- but the movie looks like they just might get it right. I need to see it.

{p.s I may have some super exciting news this afternoon- I'll keep you updated!}

Add ons

Okay just a few things today....

This video makes me want to see them even more (thanks Gmo for finding this one)

Also I'd like to add all the Cults songs to my last playlist post.

Oh and Connor made me a cd for the car (what a good little brother) and along with the loves I pointed out last time, he added a few of his favs. Why is my 18 year old brother cooler than me? Remember when everyone (well at least me) was obsessed with 'Home' by Edward Sharpe & the magnetic zeros - well Con showed me another song by them that helps to broaden my sometimes narrow-minded music selection...
[But those brothers of mine don't 'like girl singers' so I'm still sceptical of some of their choices]

Oh and I've been watching Entourage (mostly because the fambam all loves it) and this song was at the end of the most recent episode- do we like it?

What else is new?? Tuition talk is on the table and I'd like to pretend that doesn't make me think "oh god not school yet!"...but it does. I feel as if summer has just barely started- which weather-wise is true- but it's already mid-August and the countdown to October has begun. Things I'm looking forward to: seeing my girls...and hitting the mall. Oh K-town why must your shopping suck so much? But good news is that for the long weekend I will be Victoria-bound (with a stop in vancouver??) and can't wait to show Connor around- plus visit the city I have been missing dearly.

okay lovelies, have a great Wednesday.

You're not as clever as you thought

It's saturday morning. It's another beautiful day here. The only reason I put my contacts in is to wear my sunnies. After a little skype sesh with gmo I feel like this is going to be a music post more than anything else. I had a great night last night- it really felt like summer. Dinner on a patio. margaritas. nighttime swim in the pool. Today I just feel like listening to some good music, floating (either in the pool or on the boat) and relaxing. Yesterday as I was driving I thought of some songs I wish were playing on the radio. I'll leave out the LMFAO- because geronimo thinks thats 'lame' but whatever...
{some of these are repeats of previous music posts- but so what, they're just that good}

1- Walking on a dream- Empire of the Sun

2- Pumped up kicks- Foster the People

3- Patient patient- The Morning Benders

4- The Vacationer- Hungry Kids of Hungary

5- Pretty much anything by Two Door Cinema Club- but today I pick: I Can Talk

Okay kids that's all I got for now- the sunshine is calling my name
Have a great saturday!

P.S HAPPY BIRTHDAY FLANAGAN!
P.P.S Check this out

friday morning

Okay Flan's birthday is tomorrow (don't worry she hardly makes her way to this blog once a month, I think my 'surprise' is safe) but I don't get her until tuesday or wednesday. However, the planning has begun. She doesn't 'do' birthdays very well so I'm excited that this year will be a post-belated-better than ever day. The biggest part of my plan comes from this site. Yes- we shall make a beautiful fort. My favourite is this one:

Inside our fort/tent I propose we drink tea- and later martinis- and eat yummy watermelon popsicles I was talking about before. As it's 30 degrees + outside, there is no use for a fire- but it might be an idea to do this outside in her yard. I'd like to do something crafty too- but what I have yet to determine. Oh and maybe I will whip up some pimms!

I also have no clue what to get that girl for a present.  I may need to go into town today and find something gift-worthy. I can do these lovely things because I have the day off- yay!.

OH WAIT! It is my grandma mary's birthday today! I didn't forget but I was almost distracted. I know she will have a fabulous day today. She is an amazing grandma (obviously) but she is also a pretty cool chick (that's right- I called you a chick) and still one of the best shoppers I know. Thinking of you today Grandma- Happy Birthday!

Fun.

I'm fully copying Cupcakes & Cashmere with my nails today.
I just purchased 'French Affair' by Essie- which is a bit more bubblegum than this.
{plus I used more subtle sparkles on my ring fingers- 'Celibacy Club' from the Sephora for OPI Glee colours}

I also plan on making these for a very special girl next week:
{also courtesy of C&C}

or maybe these:

{root beer float popsicles}

And while I feel as if summer just begun, these great sweaters make me look forward to fall:

Today my plan: finally organize my closet....go purchase some popsicle moulds....pop into American Apparel to finally look around just for me....and maybe Blonde (aka the only store that has anything cute in ktown)...and start reading a new book!!
Back to work tomorrow after an extended long weekend.

Fundraiser update

Hello Lovelies,

I meant to put this news up the other day BUT now I have an article to go with it!

Read this- Peachland Dental on the front page news! (online version so those ontario kids can take a look)

We made 10 THOUSAND at the garage sale. Combined with donations and dental day the total- $30,000!!

I'm so proud of everyone- but especially of Lauren. She just went through surgery on thursday in Vancouver- and everything went well- got 90% of the tumor and she should be back in the Okanagan this week. If you'd like to see more pictures- look at my facebook album.

Two quick things.

I'd like to wear this.

I'd like to incorporate this into my Leicester bedroom.
(Diaz- you were so ahead on this trend ;) )

Daydreaming

If the weekend had gone as I wanted it to....

* I'd be listening to chromeo live rather than in my room

Chromeo by Chromeo

* I'd be eating these poolside, in between sipping on these

* I'd be wearing something cute like this

* I'd have a Ryan Gosling character around (I just saw Crazy Stupid Love- he's just as cute as ever)...or perhaps JT would do (saw Friends with Benefits last week)

* I'd have a golden tan- instead of this pink, freckly skin I have going on

* I'd be done reading the first of many books on my reading list- instead of still only being 3/4 through To Kill a Mockingbird

* I'd be whipping up delicious meals for friends and family instead of munching on whatever comes my way.

* I'd spend one night out dancing the night away in some killer heels

... but instead I'm just daydreaming.
