Au Revoir!

3 more sleeps!

Okay my lovelies, this is just a couple things I've accumulated while studying my butt off for the last couple weeks:

A song I found on Stereo mood- like? I think I kind of do!

These next two pictures are inspiration for my hair cut on Wednesday:

The surprise party for Geronimo was a success!!

(This is my new white dress)

This video is from a blog I adore. She's french and lovely, and the pretty little things she is wearing are being sold in Paris the day after I arrive!

The Cherry Blossom Girl pour Etam from Alix on Vimeo.

I cannot wait! Everything is finalized- and my suitcase is even packed (mostly). But I have to get a bunch of studying done in the next three days so I don't have to take any big textbooks with me...

I will try to update before I go...and I may let Diaz adopt my blog for the 10 days I'm gone- can you handle that???

P.S Look at how cute this cover is:

Procrastination Baby

Je voudrais une bouteille du vin. I think that will be a very common phrase ONE WEEK from now!!
Also, on friday we are booking a trip to SPAIN! For awhile we weren't sure, but then we found super cheap flights and a place to stay- and how do you say no to three days lounging on a beach?? And plus- in less then a month I will get to use both the damn languages I spent so much time 'learning'... except in my mind I keep coming up with spanish instead of french... Good thing I have Annette :)

But despite the blog title, I am not going to do that! I finished all my contract exam notes last night... at 2am. And today I start Tort- which I need to finish before I leave...so no time to sit around!

BUT here's what I have been up to:
Yesterday afternoon was spent getting 'supplies' for my trip (adapters, travel sized things, etc.) and I happened to stumble into TopShop (hey hey I was looking for birthday present ideas for Geronimooo)..but then I perused the sale rack- and found way too many cute things. BUT how's this for bargain shopping? I found a gorgeous white lace dress for 15 gbp.. and a mint and white lace blouse for 10 gbp.... so 25 for TWO topshop items- unheard of! (Or maybe I'm just telling myself that...). But that little trip downtown was why I was up late studying.

Oh and I booked a hair appointment for next Wednesday- it's the first time in a long time that I'm letting someone other than Odette put scissors through this hair- fingers crossed that I don't come out with a pixie cut! (Even though Saad has been trying to convince me to cut it all off... NO)

But okay, the title of this little post is a line in this song...(I like it all, but my favourite part is the last minute for sure)

New obsessions.

Clothes that I love today...

{I'm not sure what I love more- the outfit or her fabulous hair! I want it all)

{All the above via Free People}

{Found on this blog. Thanks flan.}

{Zara Zara Zara- I adore all that you have}

P.S
Flan, I found this 'how to' - so now you can make your own turban! (plus 5 other ways to tie your scarf)

My Castle

I like to think that I don't always act like a 'princess', and I promise this post is going to be short BUT it's about castles! Okay two of my lovely friends went to Scotland this last week and I am extremely jealous. Especially when I saw the pictures. Nat actually made my night tonight by giving me a very personalized present- a mini bottle of Scottish ..well Scotch BUT it's not any, it's "The MacRae Clan Malt"!!! She also took this picture:

And then upon further exploration, I found these amongst her shots:
That's our Castle!!!
{Do note her amazing photography skills}

So It's called the Eilean Donan Castle - but if you read about it, it's the MacRae castle. I even found a blog about it! (Click Here) Well I was excited. It makes me wanna crack open the bottle, throw on a kilt and march my way up there. Not so realistic at 12:30pm?? Well I am hoping that will be a trip I will take sometime in the next year (hint hint family) so I can take some pictures of some MacRae's in front of that castle :)

Mental Health Day?

When we were younger, all my friends' parents let them take 'mental health days' whenever they felt the need to stay home- whatever the real reason. If I recall correctly, Flan took them every Monday in grade 12. My parents were not slave drivers, but 'mental health days' aren't really a thing of the mac family. I was a little jealous. My point? I feel like today I am sorta taking one for myself. I woke up late and my mind is not able to concentrate on anything today. I picked up a book, read the same line 10 times and returned to my computer. I figured if maybe I gave myself some time, I'd be motivated. Didn't work. I ended up looking at pictures. and then missing everyone. Don't get me wrong, I am not in need of a real mental health day- I guess it is more of a lazy day. This is not something I scheduled into my ultimate study plan- so I'm torn on whether I should let myself go and do something crafty instead... or if I should put all this junk into a blog, wipe my hands and get back to studying. (I know which one you are thinking!) So let's try...

This is Victoria. One year ago (or so). I miss.

Then I have been accumulating these: Famous Women I Adore

(These pictures make me miss Vanity Fair- the website so doesn't beat having that thick issue in your hands.)

I want to eat alllll of these.
This picture is from here, which I intend to hunt down.

Also, did you know that the Royal Wedding Cake is going to be made by a bakery just outside of Leicester?!! You can take a look at the website if you feel the need, but if you want a nice baking blog- check this out. I found it through Smitten Kitchen (see the blogs I follow list for the link), and so far it seems pretty cool. She bakes things from old handwritten recipes etc. I haven't had much time to dig through it all, but I think my lack of baking capabilities in this kitchen draws me towards these blogs most. I think at some point during this exam period I will gather the girls here and attempt to make some banana bread- because we have all been freezing our old bananas but haven't got around to using them. I think margaritas will be in order. I must say, I have mastered the art of making fabulous ones- don't worry I will make em for all of you this summer!

Okay, my day has become a ridiculous waste of time. I must tear myself away. But I hope the links, the pictures and the ramblings will cure you from following my lazy thursday ways.
Maybe I should re-learn some french...

Au revoir mon amie xo

Wonderful Wednesday.

I had such a fabulous day today. My description of it even deserves pink font- that is how lovely it was. From the moment I opened my eyes to sunshine I knew it. So after my usual routine of checking email, fb and blogs, I got myself ready, packed my bag full of criminal justice books and headed to Queen's Road(My favourite street here- kind of similar to Cook St Village in Victoria). Today was not a day to study in a freezing cold library. So with my new favourite romper on...
(okay but it was me, and not this tall blonde model, in it)
...I headed into the sunshine. This great little cafe had two adorable tables outside and I managed to snag one. I had intended on grabbing a coffee or tea but decided on a fruit smoothie instead. And there I sat- reading, soaking up the vitamin D and pretending I was in France. I ended up staying there for three hours (I think one of my arms is noticeably darker than the other) and had various visitors to the other table- one older gentleman. a couple of lovely women- one with a baby in hand, the other very very pregnant. and a women filling in a crossword. I saw more than a dozen people try to parallel park in a massive spot in front of me- and despite everyone have miniature vehicles- they were all terrible. I could have fit two of my cars in that spot. hmm. I ate a delicious quiche- that has me thinking that a) I can't hate eggs as much and b) I need to try and make one for myself...eventually. And I got almost everything I needed to read for crim- done! So sun-kissed and feeling I'd accomplished something, I strolled to the school to say hello to the girls.

We have all fallen into this routine of studying all day- and relaxing after dinner. It works well- except Amy and Saad have both picked a show to get completely hooked on. Saad - Criminal Minds. Amy- Damages. I love both- but I am trying to read at night instead... but I have watched a couple episodes of damages (lawyer show) and I understand how you could get hooked. I will save it for Summer. I've also been trying to hit the gym daily- despite being very uninspired by the lack of- well everything there. Plus let's be honest- I miss yoga. BUT two weeks until France, so time to- oh dear I can't believe I'm going to use this- GTL. {For those of you that aren't surrounded by Jersey Shore lovers- that's Gym, Tan, Laundry} except I need to change it to 'Pack' since it will likely take me this long to figure out what to bring- and more importantly what NOT to bring. I promise never to use that term EVER again.

So I need to wrap this up my lovelies.
But first: three ads I'm mildly obsessed with...

(So Moulin Rouge-esque)

(Perhaps this will happen on the train to Paris...in 2.5 hours...)

Ahh sooo excited for Paris!

March On. Backup.

Okay. Peppermint tea in hand. Long day of studying over. Wool socks on. Playlist pumpin. Time to write!

Just when I was ready to pack everything 'winter' away and return to my standard uniform of spring dresses- the rain came back. I'm torn. I've always loved the rain, and spring being my absolute favourite month means I cannot be entirely disappointed. But warm nights spent in the park two weeks ago had me so sure I was done with the cold. Oh well- all my time will be spent in the library from now on so weather shouldn't really concern me (...until FRANCE!!!!!).

It seems every time I have three seconds alone I think of at least 72 topics to write about for you, but as soon as I am on my mac, ready to write- everything disappears. March is over. So much happened. My first year of law school classes ended. Found our favourite Leicester restaurant- Jones'(the best risotto of my life). We had the first annual beer olympics- then got robbed. Then had a whirlwind weekend in London. Spent a nearly-perfect night drinking in the park with friends (with music, and cartwheels, and dancing barefoot with my newest maxi-dress on- but much too much rum!). Went bowling- and got the worst score of my lifeee. Had yummy brunch at Mrs. Bridges Tearoom. So many Sunday dinners. It all went by so fast.

So now April brings with it two polar opposite things: Studying (yuck) and Traveling (yum). After taking the weekend to de-stress and catch up on sleep (far too much sleep...okay and catch up on all the shows I have been neglecting too) I started my journey into studying the mass amounts of law I must memorized for my 100% exams starting May23rd. I will be exactly 23 and a half (but from this statement you might assume I am closer to 12.5) and I will probably turn into a blubbering mess- rats nest hair, wrinkled clothes and coldsores oh my. Exam times never look good on me. I am hoping I can bypass this though- with LOTS of preparation and NO late nights. Except I wrote out all the readings I need to do still- and I had to try really hard not to cry. Kind of overwhelming? Yes. But do-able? yes sir! Only positive thoughts about this. from now on. I even came up with a nice little schedule that will have pre-planned meal times, gym times and even 'wash your damn hair' times. If all goes as planned, I should have killer notes ready to take with me on my escape to Paris.

(A picture I actually took when I was last there in 2005)
Speaking of that (I am always 'speaking' of that) I have nearly booked all the places we are going to stay- just our last two nights left. I have been fighting through stupid online sites trying to find a place that isn't so stupidly expensive- but I am unsuccessful so far. We are splurging a bit the first round in Paris, then (fingers crossed) staying at a pretty nice hotel in Nice for a fairly good price- but I don't want to break the bank over a pretty bed for the last two sleeps. Especially because I have it on good authority(Geronimo) that shopping in the South is fabulous. I may have to start strategically packing so I don't include every piece of clothing I own. Perhaps pictures of outfits will be posted and voted on? Ha because I'm sure I will have so much time.... Regardless I am still absolutely thrilled. Do you suggest anywhere I MUST visit? Any tips? Anything is welcome :)

I know I promised you a post by Diaz- and she has just informed me she plans on getting down to it tomorrow. She is just as busy as me- and much more productive I might add- plus she spent the weekend snoozing after getting a mild concussion thursday night. Our stairs and the highest of heels DO NOT MIX. But her head is back to normal- even if her body still looks a bit like I beat her sometimes... So check back tomorrow for what I'm sure will be a side-splitting post.

What else? I have told you about my new obsessions in terms of music over the past few weeks. I am trying not to be jealous of my friends heading to Cali for Coachella soon, and the feeling that I haven't been to a concert in a million years. But like mom said "Once you are a lawyer, you can go to any concert you want!"... yeah except that 'freedom' won't be a reality until I am at least in my mid-30's I bet- and then it's not like I'm gonna tote a kid (kids?) to hippie music festivals.  But then again, my parents do go to more concerts than anyone I know... so I'm done whining about that.

I was going to write you a whole blog about bubble baths the other night- how creative- but then I fell asleep. That is an excuse far too often in my life haha. But the reasoning behind this inspiration is this:

If you know me, you know I love Chocolate Mint.
Which this smells exactly like.
..So with yummy bubbles and so much Angus and Julia Stone playing I didn't move until my fingers looked like prunes and my eyes got heavy.

I've also started a new book: The Gargoyle. I can't tell if I love it yet, but I have hardly given it any time yet. So I will keep you updated. One of the girls bought me a book she is insisting I read as soon as I possibly can- called The Help. But I have also recently decided (after having a conversation about not being overly thrilled by anything I have read lately) I need to start on that list. You know- the list of books you need to read before you die. I think I have read a few of them- but that is barely a dent. I think this summer is a good time to start on that. Why waste my time with books that are doing nothing for me? I think what I am scared of is that I won't like the 'classics'. Because once I start, I always feel terrible if I don't finish. Which is how I finished "Love in the time of cholera" and "Atlas Shrugged" and there are more that I have specifically pushed out of my mind. But maybe I have grown up since then?

Okay let's wrap this ramble up shall we? Here are a few pictures I have sitting in my 'blog' folder on my desktop. I can't remember where I found 2 of the 3, but I love em. Oh and after the bout of bad luck with everyone's computers around me- I backed up everything today! So no lost pictures or music or even silly 'blog' folders.
{I'm sorry girls that I had to learn this lesson from you losing things- but I will do my best to fill in the gaps}

What a gorgeously girly room?! I adore everything- especially the wall colour.
