130 posts!

Hooray- 130 posts as of today!

This one better be good- so how about a little photo/idea/video/song extravaganza?! I think you deserve it

In keeping with my 'I'm beginning to be obsessed with SYTYCD' mood- watch this:

They are insane. She has been my favourite since auditions- papa is she your favourite??

Now how about some photo finds...
{First for some people}

You know I love Oliva. And wow that yellow. please please please.

Okay they are cute. How can you not love the royal couple?
Especially when Kate makes everything look fabulous.

Remember when I told you I wanted a watch? I still do. Oh did I not tell you that? Well I do.
This one is pretty.

This next one: Just a usual pool day right? I wish.
Look at those fab wedges- and the romper- I can't even handle it.

I still can't get enough stripes.
And I love this chick's hair.

Flan, thank you for showing me her blog. I love her- especially in this outfit. I want to recreate it in the fall (this is her in the summer in london- thankfully I haven't resorted to knitted sweaters here yet)

{now some home shots}

So so pretty. Wish my clothes rack looked this cute.

I'm loving all the white that's been in everything interior lately.
This one just reminds me of a perfect beach house.
I hope when I finally have a place to live for longer than a few months, I can make some part of it look as quaint as this little desk.

These tables/chairs have been everywhere for awhile, but how fab are they with the mix of old candlesticks and mirrors!

Love. that is all.

Now for some colour!

Below- seriously cool inspiration.

Okay some music. I don't have too many little gems for you, but I have been trying very hard to love the 'new' arcade fire album. I haven't decided if I am there yet- but so far the one I like most is this:

-I'm also gonna admit that I kinda sorta love the new gaga song- edge of glory.
-Plus two songs from SYTYCD: moth's wing by passion pit & in this shirt by the irrepressibles [these are the songs from the last two videos I put on my blog]
- I'm also still loving BON IVER! please listen. ooo this whole album renewed my love so much. I know I have told you about this already, but seriously amazing.

Oh.. now for a true confession: I love this song. It is THE summer song I guess. and then they went and put dancers in front of them...

Okay finally, geronimo showed me these cuties:

Have a great long weekend my lovelies,

No more apologies

I am sorry I have been missing lately- BUT it's summer and I've been busy, so I'm not going to feel bad. I have however been collecting things like crazy to post on here. One most recent thing- SYTYCD videos I adore. So look forward to perhaps a new post of three this weekend, but this morning I'm rushing off to work. Be placated by these little gems...
(p.s I was just told I NEEDED to watch this season, and I was seriously behind. I just started from the top 20 yesterday so naturally that's where these came from)

I heart this song now. I love dances like this. I wish I was dancing this dance.

This next one was choreographed by Travis- so naturally I love it. He should have won his season, but obviously he has done well for himself regardless. Plus I like this song, too. Oh yeah- teagan was unimpressed that I didn't know it already...

If you aren't watching it, you should. After I get caught up- then I'll give the Canadian one a try.

Seven Song Sunday

A little alliteration on this cloudy Sunday morning. I woke up at 7am for no particular reason and couldn't get back to sleep. So after watching more Damages, and ordering 23 blue shirts from American Apparel, I went on a little music downloading spree. Which is the usual reaction when avoiding something i.e cleaning the house. Mom and Dad are finally home tomorrow and boy am I ready. But the house needs to be cleaner, the laundry has to be done, and groceries are necessary. So good thing it's not a boat day (yesterday was!). Okay so now for some music.

1) I got the new City and Colour album. I tend to flip flop on how I feel about Dallas Green- sometimes too whiny but sometimes so good. So after Connor told me he likes it- I decided to give it a try. This was his suggestion- and I think I like it. Not so dark? Well the sound- not so much the words. Fun fact: apparently it's about his wife (Leah Millar- as in the host of SYTYCD Canada)- because she has night terrors.

2) I was looking on lastfm and they suggested Kings of Convenience. They were right. I just wanna sit in a hammock and listen to this. I love "24-25" but "Mrs. Cold" is also so lovely.

3) Mumford and Sons have been a group I've known about for a couple years- but always just listened to them on the radio. What a bad fan right? But no when I was still in Victoria, it probably played Little Lion Man like 72 times a day, and since I spent some time in my little red [I wish I could say corvette] car, I never felt like I was missing out. And then when I moved to the UK I guess I kinda forgot to keep my eye of them. I knew they were popular- especially there- but come on I was bussyyyy. Now being back in the office with XM radio- where they play the same 20 songs on repeat all day- this song always caught my ear. So I finally added them to my itunes. That was a long-winded story. Listen. please.

4) This is a two-part song selection. I feel like I'm so out of the loop on celebrity gossip- like years behind. I think I have talked about my love for Zoeey Deschanel before, but I was kinda surprised when I read that she's firstly, married, secondly, to Ben Gibbard aka lead singer of Death Cab/Postal Service. How did I not know this? Well they are. And I mean they should probably do what all the other cute musician-y couples do and sing a song together. So the first song is She &Him- which I know isn't new (i'm not living under a rock here) but I like. The second song is from the NEW Death Cab for Cutie album. It feels weird to listen to them after so long- I associate them with grade 11/12 but especially first year driving to uni everyday with the Transatlanticism cd playing. But I have to give this one a try.

5) I have told you how I love Jose Gonzales before- because his cover of heartbeats is a favourite of mine. But today I realized I NEED to hear more. I think heartbeats still steals the show, but the whole album is just wonderful to listen to and say- wash dishes? bake some muffins? do laundry to?

6) This one I owe to my little visitor to Lesta back in June. Beach House was playing on his ipod and I promptly wrote it down- and forgot about it until today. I still don't know which song it was that sparked my interest, but I think this band will grow on me.

7) Bon Iver. If you don't already associate that with amazing music, we may need to re-think our friendship. Well they finally gave me a new album, and while I haven't had time to ooh and ahh over each one yet, I did find this one awhile back and you know, being a proud Canadian, have a listen to 'Calgary'. P.S the girl in the video was on ANTM years ago.

*Bonus: Okay I know I said 7, but this last one has me frustrated. I can't seem to download it- but I heard it on hypemachine and I want. So for now, I will have to be satisfied with youtube. Their song 'I sing I swim" is also popular (and was on Grey's).

So go my lovelies and see if you can love these. I hope you are having a relaxing day, where ever you may be.

Looking forward to...

August long weekend means crowds and skimpy bathing suits and traffic. All things I'm not really into. But this year- I'm actually going to join the masses. I know- roll your eyes, be surprised- but I'm doing it for love. Love of two groups that is. Sunday just happens to be the day that both Chromeo and Dragonette play. I forgot I was excited- until the above song came on the radio and the sun was shinning ...and I was going shopping. I have fallen back into my ktown ways- I was even going to lululemon... BUT I started bikram again this week so it was for a good reason. Two classes so far- and I got a three month pass. So time to sweat it up.

Also, I spent the morning looking after this adorable little girl :)

Something to wake you up.

I'm starting to think there are some seriously beautiful people around here- and I'm not talking about the way they look! So many emails. so many 'attendees' for the fb event. so many donations. Serious motivation for sure.
Cheers,
xo cmac

Down time.

Today was hard. and at the same time wonderful.
I spent the majority of my day writing, re-writing, emailing, talking and brainstorming about these fundraising events we're planning. Lots of tears came up when I least expected them. But so much love has already been shown by our amazing community.

So now, after creating facebook events and searching the internet from more people to email, I'm finally giving myself some time to sit down, drink some tea, listen to The XX, and eat my delicious Kitchen Sink Muffins. Which made me realize I haven't given you this recipe yet...But then I realized I have the worst memory lately. I totally gave them to you in my Rad Recipe blog in June. So that idea kinda goes out the window haha. Oh well, con and teag have convinced me to watch a movie- The Adjustment Bureau- so I'll have to let you know how it is tomorrow. As well as the book I'm reading.
Take Care,

Sunday Sum-up

I've been neglectful. But it's been kind of a crazy week. Since the parentals are off cruising the black sea- I've had to take on being Mom - and let me tell you that is quite the task. So let's start with the light bubbly stuff and then we'll get to the real reason I've been missing this past week or so.

Moves Like Jagger

So I got hooked on The Voice- mostly because of my love for Adam Levine. But it turned out to be semi-good- and a whole lot better than american idol as far as I'm concerned. The top two were by far my favs, and really anytime Adam was on the screen I was pumped. But no seriously- check this one out. She may not have won, but this was one of my favourite performances.

While I've been lacking on topics to fill my blogs- I have been accumulating things I love from the various lovely blogs I obsess over/ am envious of daily.

Some house loves:
  • I have a thing for swedish houses- this is the second one I love
  • I like her blog but I love her house even more.
  • Some pictures of lovely things:

{don't you just want to sleep here??}

Some outfit loves:
{all but the first are from Atlantic-Pacific- because I just can't get over everything she wears. The first is from Because I'm Addicted- which I'm also addicted to}

I Just love how she puts things together. And not always things you'd think to.

Flan also told me about another great blog 5inches and up- boy does she love the highest of heels. And this dress is making me want to get my butt onto the Zara website and BUY but I can't. I promised myself no online shopping- since the suitcases were full coming back and I buy enough in real life, no need to resort to the web.

I have more about my before/after room redo, bookshelf dreams, reading lists, recipe recounts and friendship bracelet mayhem, but I think now I need to fill you in on what's taking up my time.

One of the wonderful dental assistants at my dad's office that has been with us for ten years was just diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. At first when it was just a tumour we all tried to keep our spirits high- but now she's bee given an estimated time. So things have been hectic. So to avoid crying every time it comes up, I've been busy planning fundraisers. The whole office has really come together and I think we have figured out a few ways to help any way we can. So give your loved ones an extra hug tonight. And I promise not to avoid writing anymore.
