Oh Lesta

So I am back. And it is cold. note: not as cold as berlin (pictures/stories to come from that later). In fact it isn't terribly cold outside- it is inside my house that really brings tears to my eyes and a shiver to my bones. And I was just told we may have a mouse. I say the singular because I refuse to believe he has any little friends. It must go. I also am sort of pretending it's not there- especially because the only witness was intoxicated at the time- but still traps are needed. I'm sure you now think I am some evil animal-hating lady that kicks puppies or something (I don't), but this mouse may be in the general area of my kitchen/main room, which naturally results in me running in and out of that area trying not to squeal, and I can't live in a house with a mouse for 6 more months. Also- my stairs may be treacherous but I don't doubt that this thing could nimbly get up there- and then while I'm sleeping...oh god I can't even think of it. I may have to move out. Or like I said- the traps need to happen. and thankfully I have convinced someone else to come collect it, if and when the trap snaps. God this is a terrible topic. Let's move on.

Where was I? Oh yes- so cold in my house that I can see my breath. Which reminds me- I got twitter! I don't want to link you to it, because I literally have tweeted twice- once to announce myself and once to state what I just said there about seeing my breath. However, my name may or may not be related to my blog- I have no imagination I like to really tie everything together. Maybe once I put wicked things on there (like on my overused blog...) I will direct you there.

It's my last term of my law degree- where did the time go? This is where you laugh to yourself and say, "you're not really in lawwww school" but that's when I remind you that if I wrote a blog about everything I was learning in class you'd be bored to tears. This is not supposed to bore you. I'm not sure what it is that this blog does for you (gives you something to peruse when you have nothing to do/ remind yourself that you never really liked me/ laugh at my hilarious jokes/ are forced to read this because I A)live with you or B) quiz you on the content to test our friendship) but this is supposed to be my little happy place where I forget the little lawyer I am becoming and let loose. and tell you music/ videos you NEED to watch. Like right now- WATCH THIS!

Remember my little lovely Sam who I danced with for all those long years? And went road trip in with this summer? This is her dance crew. Jealousy doesn't cover it. Also pride- lots of pride. Not that I have anything to do with this AT ALL but I could not be more proud to be in this chicks amazingly cool life. Sami- you did it!

What else? Law ball is at the end of February- and I am in charge of planning the after party. Which is only infuriating me about the way things work here- like club owners not showing up to meetings and not answering their phones. But I will not get stressed out {If I repeat it, it's true right?}. I also need to get back in to the swing of yoga/working out/tanning so I can give you some nice pictures to flip through. I have another great dress- I just need to look great in it now. Plus yacht week body is a constant reminder/goal.

So that's a little recap. and my break is over. time to go.

Wednesday Wonders

Hello hello,
Firstly - a very happy birthday to my lovely Connor. Hope 19 is everything you hoped it would be...just try not to throw up in the coat check line.

What about some resolutions. Have I made some? yes. Have I broken some already? you bet! I kinda feel like making a real list is only bound to fail, so I have kinda been thinking of things I need to work on for myself- not so much 'work out' but more like 'be healthier'- how cliche of a resolution...but also 'take advantage of new opportunities'...wishful thinking? See it's not worth spelling them all out- but one thing is for sure- this blog needs to be used again.

I have been reading more magazines than blogs lately (the joys of being home)  which means less pretty thing for you to look at. BUT look here and see how cool it would be to stay in the swiss alps.
And again- they have assembled some wicked room ideas that I daydream about- check it out here.
And what about some insane libraries? Here's quite the collection. Makes me kinda wish I studied there- I'm sure my IQ would increase just sitting there.
And a DIY I plan to do...sometime soon?

Another cover I quite like:

In fact, the whole Florence album that came out in October is insanely wonderful. I'm still finding new songs that I love the more I listen to it. Sadly the Feist CD that came out around the same time failed to live up to my expectations- but I'm still trying.

Another blog I have been meaning to share on here is Kendi Everyday. This is not like cupcakes, nor is it atlantic-pacific, but I just love how this chick puts cute outfits together, with a few lines of hilarious text and I've been hooked. I also like that she shops at Target and Payless - always makes me happy when I see things I love- and they don't cost thousands of dollars.

So that's all for now. Hope you're having a lovely week.

Photo Dump

Here's everything I have been hoarding, in hopes I'd have time to properly display them. But now it's time to clear the folders and clean up my computer. And you get the treat of pretty things to look at. Sadly I haven't labelled them all- but the majority are from This is Glamourous, Because I'm addicted, Honestly WTF, Cupcakes and Cashmere, and Atlantic-Pacific- so my usual favourites. Enjoy!

2012!

It is a new year- and that means I'M BACK!
Here's a little to catch you up with everything I've been up to...

  • The parties revolved around costumes of course- whether it was a pink party to raise money for breast cancer care, a pj party for Movember, or just halloween

  • It was my 24th birthday (still not used to that yet!)

  • I was given a trip to GREECE for my birthday- which was phenomenal. Pictures here.
  • I wrote a bunch of papers. This playlist kept me sane. My fav- is this song:

  • I got to spend a week at home with friends and family before heading off to Cabo for Christmas. For those pictures- head here

  • I read/ am reading three books: The Great Gatsby, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and now 1984.

  • I spent NYE up at Big White with fab friends and family- playing silly drinking games and laughing our way into the new year.

So today I am just relaxing and getting ready to go to work in the morning. My bags aren't all unpacked- but the idea of bed is just so much appealing right now. I'm reminiscing about the past year, while trying to work up a list of 'resolutions' to work on for this year. There is so much to look forward to this coming year, but I know it will be the hardest term yet. One thing's for sure- I hope to keep this updated more often!
